The Governing Bodies of Brecknock and Torriano Primary Schools are delighted to announce that they have voted to federate from 1st September 2022. This follows an extensive consultation with all stakeholder groups. The individual governing bodies will cease to exist in law on 31 August 2022, and the new, joint governing body will take effect from 1 September 2022.
The federation of our two schools means that each school will retain its leaders, teachers and support staff. Each will retain its distinctive curricula. They will continue to be separate schools with separate budgets. The Federation will have a shared governing body across the two schools that will enable leaders to work more efficiently. Federating also helps us to stand stronger as two schools in the face of emerging changes in the external environment.
