The Brecknock and Torriano Federation has a legacy of strong mathematics teaching, with expert teachers leading on the implementation of maths mastery in North-West London. The schools both have experience in leading on developmental teacher research groups both within and beyond Camden.
Conor Loughney, Brecknock Head of School, was one of the Primary Leads for the Central and North West Maths hub and continues to be the Headteacher advocate for the North-West and Central London Maths Hub.
The schools have also delivered bespoke ITTE training for The Institute of Education on teaching for mastery, for both students and IoE staff. Maths Leads at both schools lead and take part in Teacher Research Groups to improve standards in mathematics.
